number of reasons.
Probably, most importantly is that I've found that the reason
people want to learn to play the piano is to play songs they
know and love. I mean really, what fun is it to sit down at a
cocktail party and play scales or have to sight read some
exercise. With a song, you already have an idea how its
supposed to sound and what better motivation to practice than
to play a favorite song.
Also, by learning to play a song with the Play Like Me approach,
you'll be able to play the song from memory so you can really
impress your friends by just sitting down at the piano and
playing something that sounds great and everyone recognizes!
